Israeli Prime Minister Bennett issued a statement on June 22, saying that the number of confirmed cases of the new crown in the country has increased significantly recently, and the new crown epidemic has re-erupted in the country.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, there were 125 new confirmed cases of new crown in the country on the 21st, which is a new high in the past two months.

According to a report by The Times of Israel on June 22, Bennett said in a television statement issued on the 22nd that based on current data, the government believes that the epidemic has re-erupted.

Bennett said that the delta mutant new crown virus has spread to Israel. “The mutated virus spreads quickly and will infect people who have been vaccinated.” But he said that Israel is currently in “good conditions” and the people “do not need to panic”.

According to local media reports, most of the new cases currently come from primary and secondary schools in certain cities in Israel. In an interview with local media, Shezi Levi, Director-General of the Israeli Ministry of Health, said that about 70% of the new cases are related to the delta mutant new crown virus. The Ministry of Health announced on the 21st that it is "strongly recommended" to vaccinate young people aged 12 to 15 years with the new crown vaccine. Up to now, nearly 80% of Israeli adults have completed the vaccination, and the country has not yet carried out vaccination work for children and adolescents under 16 years of age.

As of June 23, the cumulative number of confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in Israel was 840,000, of which 6,428 people died. Prior to this, Israel was considered to have achieved "herd immunity" with its high vaccination rate and has gradually relaxed restrictions.
